Alex Truesdale
I'm Alexandria Truesdale, but I go by Alex! I am a Chicago based illustrator. I have spent my school years enamored with my art classes and creative writing. High School allowed me to really take off with my love for art, and even nurtured my creative writing skills. I am a graduate of American Academy of Art College, and have even taken additional creative writing classes through Columbia College Chicago!
I make digital illustrations of fantastical and natural worlds, and the creatures that roam them. I bring these pieces to life with semi-realism and abstractions. My work illustrates the beauty and wonder of our world, always with bright colors and detailed line work (maybe less detail in my abstract art!). Though I work primarily with digital programs, Clip Studio Paint and Adobe Photoshop, I like to return to my roots of painting and pencils sometimes. I take the smooth blending I love from oil paints and colored pencils into my digital pieces. Creating beautiful gradients of colors and shading in my artworks.
My career goals in life are to lead by example, and do what I love for a living; making art and writing. Being able to inspire others to do what they love is my goal for everyone who sees my works. Giving the knowledge that everyone starts out as an amateur; it takes practice to get better at the things you love.
